4:48 DIGESTION is a raw, visceral, and highly physical piece of experimental theatre that excavates the biological and emotional landscapes of seven female-identifying performers. This multi-layered work exposes how the body remembers, resists, and responds to the weight of societal expectation and internalized trauma.
Loosely inspired by Sarah Kane’s 4:48 Psychosis, the performance becomes a bold act of embodied research: the performers move, speak, eat, and expel - pushing themselves to the limits of physical and emotional endurance. Through this process, they deconstruct inherited gender roles and stereotypes, confronting the fundamental question: what does it mean to inhabit a female body in a world where femininity is both revered and violated?
Born from a collaborative process with international artists from radically different life experiences and training, 4:48 DIGESTION transcends language and culture.
With unflinching honesty and poetic brutality, 4:48 DIGESTION asks: What do we consume, and what consumes us?
