TG WORKS is a migrant-led, cross-disciplinary and highly physical experimental theatre company.
It is a living, ever-changing archive of forms, voices and big ideas. It is a hub where the artists involved can explore, research and construct new theatre work that aims to disrupt, destroy and rebuild.
It is a collective, messy arena where we can fearlessly unpack what it means to make theatre today. What are the driving forces that still push us to construct a piece and present it to an audience? What content do we want to deliver? Which forms can fracture the old and which can breathe new life into it?
But most importantly, what do we want to say in today’s turbulent time?
TG WORKS is a collaborative theatre company rooted in experimental performance, that blends new writing, physical theatre techniques, multimedia elements and layered dramaturgies. The company explores the intersection of absurdism, the Theatre of Cruelty and technology; developing works that interrogate socio-political realities while tapping into the collective imagination through known figures, historical events, and iconic cultural narratives.
Created and led by Lecoq and RADA trained Tommaso Giacomin, TG WORKS was born from the need to reunite his works and trace the red thread that ties them all together. To keep a record and to reflect. To celebrate the ongoing creative contribution of the extraordinary artists, he and his co-founder and Company Manager, Manuela Pierri, had the privilege to work with in the past ten years. Artists who are bold, in-your-face, present and who share his same hunger for exploring this artform: what it is and how to turn it on its head.
TG WORKS is the next step. It is not just an archive but a beginning. It is an invitation to push and to do what we do best: work.
